Privacy Policy for Waste Exploration Technologies

Waste Exploration Technologies is on a mission to help businesses build more efficient and sustainable waste operations. We rely on data and insights to save our customers time and money so they can focus on their core missions. This Privacy Policy applies to certain information we collect and process as a Controller (defined below) about you when you use or interact with:
- Our waste operations platform and associated technology we provide for access to and use of those services (the "Services");
- Our marketing websites (the "Website"); and
- Our social media, emails, advertisements, and other locations where you interact with our business (collectively, with the Services and Website, the "Business").
Data protection laws distinguish between entities that control the purposes and means of processing Personal Information ("Controllers") and entities that process Personal Information on behalf of other entities ("Processors"). Our agreement with a business customer (a "Company") governs our provision of Services. When we process Personal Information on behalf of a Company to provide contracted Services, we do so as a Processor in accordance with the terms of our agreement and the Company's instructions, not this Privacy Policy. If you wish to exercise your rights regarding Personal Information we are processing on behalf of a Company, you should contact that Company for assistance.

We process Personal Information to deliver our Services and to operate our Business.
A. Personal Information Provided Directly to Us
The Services are intended for use by Companies and their employees and other authorized users ("Authorized Users"). We collect and process Personal Information when you submit it to our Business, including:
- Contact Information: Your name, email address, phone number, employer, and job title.
- Identity Verification & Risk Information: Information about the Company’s owners or control persons requested during the application and underwriting process.
- Communications: Information provided when you contact sales or support, provide product feedback, or correspond with us.
- Audio and/or Video Recordings: We may collect recordings during sales or support calls, and you will be notified and given the option to opt-out.
In connection with providing the Services, we also collect additional Personal Information of Authorized Users, such as:
- Authorized User Information: Your name, email, login credentials, and other information used by your Company to invite and manage Authorized Users on the platform.
- Transaction Data: Information associated with your bill payments for our Services, which may include Personal Information.
- Platform Telemetry Data: We collect data from sensors and devices you connect to our platform, such as sensor readings, device identifiers, and operational logs, which are necessary for the Services to function.
B. Personal Information Generated and Collected Automatically

Waste Exploration Technologies uses a number of third-party service providers and sub-processors to deliver our Services to you. These third parties are authorized to use your Personal Information only as necessary to provide these services to us. We have contracts in place with all our sub-processors that are designed to help safeguard your Personal Information.

Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
- Category: Cloud Infrastructure
- Purpose: We use Google Cloud Platform for our core cloud hosting and for secure data storage.
Google Cloud (Vertex AI)
- Category: AI & Data Processing
- Purpose: Vertex AI powers AI-driven features within our platform for data processing and platform analytics.
Heap / Fivetran
- Category: Product Analytics & Error Handling
- Purpose: We use these services for application performance monitoring, data integration, and error tracking to help us identify and fix issues with our Services.
Intercom
- Category: Customer Support & Communications
- Purpose: We use Intercom as our platform for handling customer support inquiries, user messaging, and engagement.
Dropbox Sign
- Category: Document Signature
- Purpose: We use Dropbox Sign for processing and obtaining legally binding electronic signatures on contracts and other documents.
B. Other Disclosures
In addition to the sub-processors listed above, we may disclose Personal Information to the following parties:
- Affiliates: We may disclose Personal Information to affiliates and related entities of Waste Exploration Technologies.
- Business Customers: We disclose Personal Information to your Company so that we can provide the Services on its behalf.

You can opt out of receiving promotional emails from us at any time by following the unsubscribe link in the email. You cannot opt out of transactional and relationship emails related to your account and our ongoing business relations.
C. Tracking Technology Control
- Cookies: Most browsers accept cookies by default. You can instruct your browser to decline or delete cookies, but be aware that some parts of our Business may not function correctly.
- Global Privacy Control (GPC): Our Website is designed to respect GPC signals from supported browsers, which can indicate your choice to opt out of certain data processing.
- Do Not Track: We do not currently monitor or take action with respect to "Do Not Track" signals.
- Analytics and Targeted Advertising: Google provides tools to allow you to opt out of Google Analytics at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Our Business is headquartered in and operated from the United States. All Personal Information we collect is transferred to, processed, and stored in the United States. Data protection laws in the United States may differ from those of your country of residence.

Where required by law, we rely on the following lawful bases for processing Personal Information: at your direction and in performance of a contract; compliance with our legal obligations; your consent; and to further the legitimate interests of our business.

We use various technical and organizational measures designed to protect your Personal Information. However, no information security program is entirely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of your Personal Information. 11. Retention
We retain Personal Information for as long as we have a business purpose to do so and as necessary to comply with our legal obligations. Generally, this means we keep your information as long as your Company's account is active. When the applicable retention period elapses, we will delete or de-identify your Personal Information. When an account is canceled, data is typically deleted from our active systems within 60 days and from backups within an additional 90 days.

This section applies only to Virginia residents.
Under the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (CDPA), a "Consumer" is a resident of Virginia acting in an individual or household context. If this definition applies to you, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
